Since its inception, the Krishna and Sandra Rao Foundation has worked quietly but powerfully to support the most vulnerable people in India — children trafficked for labour and sex, HIV+ youth, girls in domestic servitude, and families living in deep poverty.
We fund grassroots initiatives that are often overlooked — the underdogs doing the hardest work in the toughest places. And the results speak for themselves.
£1.85 million donated to frontline initiatives supporting India’s most at-risk communities
26,983 lives directly transformed through rescue, rehabilitation, education & life-skills
208,817 people indirectly impacted through health, livelihoods & awareness programmes
We’ve supported work across 20+ Indian states and partnered with global advocates like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch — influencing policy, funding shelters, and amplifying unheard voices.
Prajwala: Restoring Dignity After Trafficking. Prajwala was on the brink, urgently needing shelter for 100 trafficked children. With our support, they moved from scattered rented rooms to a peaceful 10-acre campus near Hyderabad.
Today, 120 children live in safety, attend school, receive trauma care and medical aid, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Every donation, every project, every rescued child is a ripple. Together, those ripples are changing the tide for an entire generation. We are deeply honoured to walk alongside our partners — and with you — to build a more just, inclusive, and humane India.
The Krishna and Sandra Rao Foundation has invested £2.3 million in combating child trafficking in India.
We support transformative, grassroots initiatives across India that protect, heal and empower survivors of trafficking. Each project is chosen for its impact, integrity, and lasting outcomes.
